Which English police force is happy to risk the lives and safety of police officers by sending them to dangerous jobs ‘single-crewed’ to give the illusion of greater coverage?
Which EnglishÂ police force pretends to have given PCs their discretion back, while relentlessly bullying staff for targets?
Which English police force scrapped CID prisoner handling units, forcing Neighbourhood PCs to spend their whole time in custody?
Which English police force has just adopted a new operational model, even though the pilot failed to deliver at every level?
Which English policeÂ force has avoided an equivalent drop in perks, conditions of service and pensions for senior officers as for federated ranks?
Which English policeÂ force has acquiesced to impossible political demands for crime reduction by ‘managing crime’ instead of challenging the targets?
Which English policeÂ force has sacked hundreds of support staff but kept their role requirements, given the tasks to police officers and further reducing the number of boots on the street?
Which English police force can only now manage provide a ’999′ and local patrol service by effectively illegally abandoning Police Regulations and forcing last-minute shift changes, altered shift patterns and refusing annual leave to the work force?
Which English police force has stripped the central control room of experienced staff to the point where dispatchers and call-takers are clueless about the area, what they are sending us to and what should happen when we get there?
And to me, as a police officer who is constantly being reminded about my duty to be truthful and maintain my integrity at all costs, the final and most important question;
Which English police force, having decided to do all the above, has admitted this to the public?
The state of English policing under the current government? Understandable.
The fact that we lie about it? Unacceptable.
